Customizing and Upgrading

Planning Performance Upgrades for Your Aircraft

by Motion RC April 21 2015

The manufacturing partners we work with design their respective aircraft with components which provide the best balance between power, weight, CG balance, performance, efficiency, and flight duration. Generally, changing any component of the power system --propeller, motor, ESC, or battery-- will likely require changing other components within that system.

Ultimately the additional cost, weight, and mounting challenges are counteracted by the aircraft itself (drag, servo strength, CG balance, hinge strength). Aircraft designed for more 'power' from the start will have had all those other aspects taken into consideration in their initial design, and will ultimately be a more cost effective and safer alternative than to upgrade and/or rebuild a plane not suited for the increase power and force loads.
